RESIDENTS, ORGANISATIONS, COMMUNITY GROUPS AND ENTERTAINERS URGED TO GET INVOLVED IN ELLESMERE PORT’S JUBILEE EVENT
8 May 2012
Residents, community groups and entertainers are being invited to attend a drop-in session discussing the town’s celebrations for the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.
A town-wide Jubilee event to be held on Sunday, June 3 is currently in the planning stages, and includes a community-driven festival parade through the town into Whitby Park followed by a ‘Party in the Park’ – an afternoon of family fun.
Taking place on Thursday, May 10 between 10am and 4pm at the Civic Hall, the drop-in session will provide anyone wishing to take part in either of the two events to find out more information, meet the team and get involved.
Our Place locality manager, Dave Tai, said: “The drop-in session will provide the perfect opportunity for anyone looking to get involved with what promises to be a fantastic day of festivities to find out more.
“We are looking for anyone who may want to provide a float for the parade, host a stall within Whitby Park or provide entertainment throughout the day.
“If you would like to get involved with this whole town, community event then please visit our drop-in session or contact the Our Place team.”
For further information or to register your interest in taking part in the day please contact the Council’s Our Place team on 0151 356 6450.
