Love Your Park

2nd June 2016 – Love Your Park. Residents of Ellesmere Port are invited to attend Whitby Park’s ‘Love Your Park’ event on Sunday 12th June 2016 from 12 – 4pm.

The event is to celebrate all of the great activities that can be enjoyed in the park from the play area, bowling and the new Parkour, to drama in the hall and volunteering in the community garden.

Celebrate The Queen’s 90th birthday in the Union Jack decorated marquee with face painting, crown making and music through the decades.

There will be family activities; join the Brio Bear doing circuits and help build the 8ft willow figure that will remain in the park after the event. Light refreshments will be available from the community cafe.

Take part in the FIFA 16 X-box competition, bring a football for a kick about, learn about summer fire safety or just sit back and enjoy listening to Ellesmere Port Concert Brass in the band stand.

Councillor Louise Gittins, Cabinet Member for Culture, Leisure and Wellbeing, said: “There’s been a lot of investment in Whitby Park recently, helping to make West Cheshire a great place to live and visit; with the pond renovation works and new railings along Stanney lane opening out the views into the park.

“I hope Ellesmere Port residents will visit the park and see the improvements then come back regularly as we continue to make it a real asset to the area.”

The Ellesmere Port locality team will also be launching a questionnaire at the event asking residents how they use the park and if they feel there’s anything still missing. Further information on the questionnaire and the event can be found at or call the Ellesmere Port Locality team on 0151 356 6782.
