Hundreds of job vacancies on offer at Ellesmere Port Jobs Fair
2nd September 2015 – Local employers, training and education providers are coming together in September for a free jobs fair at Ellesmere Port Civic Hall, which will advertise live job vacancies and apprenticeships, offer training support and advice on anything from starting a business, money matters and wellbeing.
Live Local Work Local takes place at Ellesmere Port Civic Hall on 10th September 2015 between 10am and 4pm. It will be hosted by housing association Plus Dane in partnership with Cheshire West and Chester Council, includes employers such as Brio Leisure, Balfour Beatty, M&S Cheshire Oaks and KPHM, amongst many more, who will be advertising current job, graduate and apprenticeship opportunities and will be on hand to talk to residents about how they can access opportunities.
This is the second time that Plus Dane will hold the event in Ellesmere Port, with last year’s event playing host to over 30 employers looking to fill 450 job vacancies and attracting over 550 people through the door.
In addition to employment support, there will also be agencies on hand to offer support and advice on securing employment, identifying training or skills needs, managing money, health and wellbeing and much more.
Peter Shaw, Managing Director of Ellesmere Port and Neston at Plus Dane Group and member of the Ellesmere Port Development Board, said: “Live Local Work Local is a great way to help local residents access local opportunities, bringing together a wide range of employment and training support all under one roof, along with the opportunity to talk directly to employers and apply for live vacancies and apprenticeships.
“Last year’s event was a big success and we are delighted to once again be working with Cheshire West and Chester Council and other key partners to deliver such a much-needed event in Ellesmere Port.”
Cabinet Member for Economic Development and Infrastructure, Councillor Brian Clarke who will be attending the event said: “This is a wonderful event for our local residents to meet local employers to find out more about the job opportunities and apprenticeships which are on offer within the Ellesmere Port area.
“There is also support available for people wishing to start-up their own business or get expert advice on training, volunteering and managing money.
“I would encourage residents to attend the event at the Civic Hall to take advantage of the live job opportunities and support that is available. I hope I will see local schools leavers and sixth form pupils in attendance because this is one of the Council’s priorities to help inform them on career decisions and choices.
“The Council is working with new investors, expanding companies and start-up businesses to help create a variety of new jobs in all sectors.”
Chair of the Ellesmere Port Development Board, Robert Mee, said: “One of the board’s key priorities is to bring in new companies and support existing ones in Ellesmere Port to help create employment opportunities for local residents.
“I am delighted that so many organisations and companies have been able to come together to provide such a wealth of opportunities and expert advice in one place. With more than 400 job vacancies on offer I encourage residents to take this great opportunity.”
