Ellesmere Port Manufacturers Urged To Take Advantage of Funded Training and Support
28 May 2014 – Ellesmere Port’s Development Board is urging local manufacturers to take advantage of funded training opportunities through the Cheshire Profit Programme, together with support to help them boost profits.
Local small and medium-sized sized manufacturing businesses can take advantage of generous training subsidies to attend the Cheshire Profit Programme Masterclass Series – comprising six day-long workshops covering the key issues affecting manufacturing businesses.
The programme also offers manufacturers a fully-funded business review session at their factory which provides an opportunity to discuss current challenges with a seasoned manufacturing expert, who will listen carefully and then help create an action plan for immediate business performance improvement.
Follow-up subsidised consultancy and coaching support is also available to help implement the actions.
Chair of Ellesmere Port Development Board, Robert Mee, said: “Ellesmere Port’s manufacturing community is growing, with more and more people looking to set up their own businesses and it is vital that they are equipped with the knowledge and support to ensure their business succeeds.
“The Cheshire Profit Programme provides the specialist advice and help local businesses need to thrive and compete, both in UK and overseas markets, and we would encourage companies to take advantage of this funded support.”
Dr Julie Madigan, Chief Executive of The Manufacturing Institute, the charity which manages both the Cheshire Profit Programme and Fab Lab Ellesmere Port, said: “Local manufacturing is on the rise and our practical masterclasses and wider support is helping businesses drive increased profits.
“We’re providing the tools and skills, together with the inspiration manufacturers need to develop and implement action plans for growth and success.”
She added: “We know that local manufacturers will benefit greatly from the Profit Programme because it’s based on a system we have perfected over the past 20 years, during which our seasoned business and manufacturing professionals have shared their wisdom with more than 5,000 manufacturing businesses to generate a £1.2 billion profit boost for these firms.”
Masterclasses will take place this June and July, and are heavily subsidised thanks to £2.4m funding from The European Regional Development Fund and The Manufacturing Institute.
Delivered by leading industry experts, the masterclasses include business planning; sales and marketing; new product development; leadership and talent development; operations management and strategic planning, implementation and execution.
Manufacturing companies can send up to four people to the entire Masterclass Series for £900, or can book onto a single seminar. Businesses can also book a fully funded expert business review to create their profit action plan.
